How to install paneling over drywall? I want to put on my plaster paneling existing ones. What is the proper way to install it? Nails, glue, etc.?
The idea of using nails if you want to remove the paneling in the future is a good program, however, depending on your climate (mild, dry, wet), the wear and paneling might face and the type of finish you apply, not to mention the look you are trying to achieve (vs. formal rustic) glue your panels with liquid nails or something similar will provide a better finish your project to nail plain . Especially if you use real wood paneling as opposed to sheet paneling. paneling sheets can be nail to the wall studs and be very strong, but as mentioned above, according to the climate that there may be some distortion. Individual research is more beautiful paneling, but because it is real wood, warping, twisting and cracking can be a problem especially if it is not glued and nailed properly. Good luck!

I nailed mine. If I ever want to take it down, everything I have to do is fill the nail holes and paint. If you glue, when you turn down (if you can get down) it is generally tear the drywall beyond repair. This means that new drywall, mud, dust and all the other messes as well as a big expense. I would go for the nails, because it does not take much if the paneling is light.
I nail myself, keeps future options open, if you want to change it later
