Firewire CableFirewire cable?

I have a Panasonic PV-GS85 DV. I need a FireWire cable, but I do not know anything about them. What do I seek the transfer of best picture and sound?

well since your mini DV camera it will not matter if you have a FireWire 400 or 800. they transfer to a high quality, and transfer in real time. meaning that if you have 35 minutes of footage will require 35 minutes to transfer. Just wanted to get a circuit or Best Buy or something and buy a FireWire 400. you'll notice that FireWire 800 cables more expensive, but it is not because their best quality, it's just because in some formats, they transfer faster, buit not dv min, which is the type Camcorder you if there is no point to get a 800.

If you have a mini dv (cassette) camcorder ....
Your DV camcorder requires a FireWire (IEEE 1394) to download video, your PC probably did not come with a FireWire port, so you should buy one and install it, since most computers ( except perhaps new) n 't come with a FireWire port, your camcorder does not come with a firewire cable, so you must purchase a cord too. Your camcorder did come with a USB cable that is used to download photos from your camcorder. Ensure that your camera is in playback mode.
