Using a model figure skating dress and make sure to use 4-way stretch fabric. You can find patterns and fabrics at your local fabric store. Figure skating is very expensive everywhere, not just the dresses and tights, but skates are also very expensive. Here are some links that will show the methods used to sew dresses figure skating http://www.jalie.com/sewingpatterns/figu ...

This book contains instructions and templates for a single room and two rooms "actionwear" - including styles for skating. In the Amazon editorial review, he said: "even a beginner sewer can follow and be able to do professional-looking clothing.

You do not want to wear roller skating outfits. . . particularly true for the practice! stretch leggings and layering with a t-shirt with a light jacket / sweater is quite good. So it is hot and can move freely!
In practice, it may also be a sticker with a wrap or pull on the skirt (the "dance" look ... Easily interchangeable and less work washing) - with a sweatshirt / jacket / sweater on top . I put my bathing suit at the opportunity to use (if the cut is appropriate of course) - add a wraparound skirt and there is bound to slip now. I had a friend who just made a ton of film skirts around fabric / color. . . and she just threw on what she wore - more unitards and leggings.
However, for the skirt will dress look / you need to invest in skating tights. . . there is no substitute for people (for the thickness, durability, and heat!).
Hope that helps some!
Be sure to use a 4-way stretch material! I learned the hard way.
