Italian Horn

Im going to Catholic high school next year and I read about the Italian horn to find out what it means. and I read somethings about how Catholics are not supposed to be? Is this true? because im very Italian, but im religious.

Because the Italian Horn is designed to ward off evil spirits from the evil eye ... In bringing it to show you the belief in this superstition, while the Bible clearly teaches against the superstitious mind.
