Ways to make clothes new look really old? The theater group I'm involved in putting on the Man of La Mancha. To our customers all fell, so I need lots of ideas on how to make "new" look really old clothes ... as in the 15th century Spain.
We have good cuts of clothing, but I need help on how to effectively bring-and-tear 30 + pieces of clothing. I do not want all the same, so please respond with as many methods as you know!
Hmm.
1) sandpaper to give them the "old" look. [Make sure its inside out]
2) Take a jacket and hold up a wall and use the same method you use to recover a dollar.
3) Washington
4) cutting the neckline gives the impression that broken and worn
5) Use a power tool may be on the butt, and pockets.
6) Then, wash again.
7) Dry and look over point. If its not to your taste painful to try new domain.
- For the yellow shirt a bit, you can soak in tea. [May need a few boxes]
- Bury them. [Works really]
- If you rip the things off with a razor blade [first very small but] then begin to pull some of the material so that the area appears frayed
- You can use a cheese grader on jeans.
- Put them in your driveway and run over them. [Do not use for delicate blouses]
- Rub coffee grinds on them and the ground.
Hope I helped.
