Top Baby NamesWhat do you think of baby names for 2006?

I received an e-mail list of top baby names for 2006. What do you think of names??

Girls (Top 10)
1. Grace
2. Ava
3. Emma
4. Madison
5. Addison
6. Isabella
7. Elizabeth
8. Abigail
9. Olivia
10. Ella

Boys (Top 10)
1. Aidan
2. Ethan
3. Noah
4. Caleb
5. Jacob
6. Alexander
7. Michael
8. Landon
9. Logan
10. Jacques

Personally, I dislike most of the names.

I agree with Grace in the first place! Ava was stupid and should not be there.Emma is very nice! The rest are not very good, but maybe ... For boys, I agree with Alexander, Michael, James, Jacob and Landon.

I'm about to name my daughter Isabella)

They look like identical names high as 2005. I am glad that my baby's name is not on the list!

I think many of them are nice, but obviously in vogue. When I have kids, I want them to have unique names, without being too nosy, like the children of celebrities. The thing I would say about big names this year is that girls are very feminine and boys are very biblical.

I like Elizabeth and Ethan. It would even be perfect for twins.

Cute names! But I am glad that the names of my children has not made the top 10 this year.

For girls, I like 2, 3, 6 and 10.
For boys, like 1, 8 and 10.
I am particularly fussy name ..
mostly because I associate names with faces that I know now or used to know.

Grace - nice and simple, very pretty
Ava - a beautiful name that grow well with someone
Emma - not my style
Madison - very "90s" for me
Addison - for an ugly girl, very masculine
Isabella - I'm soo tired of that name! No more Isabella: Please!
Elizabeth - very pretty, very classic, he loves.
Abigail - one of my favorite names!
Olivia - again, one of my favorites
Ella - love it!

Aidan - as Isabelle. Too common and I am sick of hearing it.
Ethan - love it!
Noah - great name
Caleb - not my style
Jacob - magnificent!
Alexander - too 90's
Michael - not my style, but I think a nice name
Landon - cheap survey
Logan - it's alright
James - I love the classics

Well some of them are as old classic names like Grace, Isabella, Elizabeth, Abigail, Michael, Jacob, etc.. For me, as Addison and Madison and Landon and Logan are more like last names and then the first, but to each is own. I named my children Joshua and Lauren. And none of my family liked the name Lauren

In my area, one of the hospitals keep track of the most popular names.
Girls: Emma
Boys: Ethan

I agree, the names become a bit more "trendy"

I think the reason Aidan is so popular because of the show "Sex & The City"

Ironically, Emma has never made the list until Racheal Friends baby named Emma.

Also, you remember the wave of "Tristaine" after Brad Pitt has played this character in Legends of the Fall?

I agree with other posters, I'm so glad my daughter's name is not on the list!

at least Muhammad is not on the list. in England it is now known as High boys. ugh.

I like Madison and Caleb

I do not want to name my child something on this list, even though I like some of the names. I do not want it either through the fifth of his class or for him to be the fifth Ethan on the ball field. This list is a great resouce it tells you which names are too common!

They are very nice, there is nothing wrong with them,

I think we got the same e-mail.

Anything I could think of were:
