Velvet ClothingThe stains on the clothes of silk velvet and after their return from the cleaners?

I recently dry-cleaned silk velvet dress / that was returned with a hard spot on the dress. It is brittle / dry and seems to have damaged the battery. I know that the mark was not on the dress before it is sent to check because I still have my clothes.

Does anyone know what may have caused the mark to appear during the process of dry cleaning? I know that the spots may become more apparent during the process d / c but I did not know they would be hard / brittle.

I am the process of getting the dress assessed, but some background would be helpful. Thank you /

My poor! Is this the dress of silk and velvet or silk velvet? When made of silk velvet, you must be aware that in almost all cases, only bands of velvet is made of silk. The battery is almost always made rayon. Here is a link with info on silk velvet:

Other weft are entirely made of rayon, with the exception of cotton velvet, which is 100% cotton.

Information on damages dry cleaners - make sure you scroll the page to:

There are chemicals that can dissolve both the silk and rayon. When people want that to happen, they use these chemicals to "burn" the fibers in a pattern. On velvet, which makes the appearance of cut pile. Check this site for more information on the chemical that does this. You want to contact the company for the exact name of the chemical and ask your dry cleaner if they were contained in the chemical or similar:

Now that you're armed with a little more info, I suggest you take your dress to another dry cleaners and to ask him about it. I do not know what chemicals they used the original, but it is possible they used the wrong chemicals for the dress.

A friend of mine has a nice suit covered with thousands of fake pearls. When she got back from the dry cleaning, pearls have been nothing more sad, sank shortly. My point is, those chemicals can be very reactive / corrosive to certain items.

Good luck!
