The Chinese designer showrooms in New York, Hong Kong and Sydney and sells to upscale department stores like Saks Fifth Avenue in the U.S. as well as luxury boutiques around the world. To extend its success, Ho plans to launch its "clothes" Made in China "designer in Europe soon.


Far as famous as other giants of leading apparel brands such as Valentino and Versace, Dorian Ho gown will cost you one third of the equivalent premium. Like Ho noted, "Few can afford to own many Valentino gowns, but for one Valentino, they could afford to own two or three of my dresses." In addition to top quality and amazing Western designs, low prices is another factor contributing to the success of Ho "Made in China brand clothing.


However, only time will tell if it will be possible for customers to root their faith in "Made in China clothing brand. Despite the premium brand, it will have to overcome the reputation of China as a country that produces goods of low quality. Classic Western designer clothes has been the rule that designs high-end must be kept close to home so that quality control and optimization of "Made in Europe" labels may be possible. Most felt strongly that designer clothes upmarket earns and retains its reputation because it's produced in Europe, an equivalent recognized for quality and attention to detail.


Unfortunately, "Made in China" label is usually doubled as a nickname for quality at low prices and poor. On the other hand, production costs in China are very low compared to those faced by Western clothing brands. Tapping into this party, Ho is able to make dresses of high quality at relatively low prices, increasing the use of couture fabrics and accessories of quality imported from Europe. And Ho is able to perform a comprehensive quality control, as it locates the basis for the production of its branded apparel in Shenzhen, near Hong Kong. In addition, Ho employs skilled seamstresses to sew and beauty of his work on clothes. In the case of Ho, the Chinese production can mean quality, which can be demonstrated by its designer warm clothes at home. "Western consumers are willing to pay thousands of dollars for a dress made in China if they are convinced the brand commitment to quality control remains intact," said Sophia Wu, China general manager of Chloe.


More and more European designers are moving or have plans to move production to China, where it is difficult to track costs. Burberry, for example, as a leader of British fashion, began producing shirts in China last year. Some other fashion houses are tempted to move their production to China not only because of its low price and good quality, but also by a potential customer, and China is a huge consumer market for branded apparel. But Ho says her designer clothing is not targeting the Chinese market and further its objectives are set.
